Maya Belsitzman & Matan Ephrat | Crazy He Calls Me

Partners in life and music, Maya Belsitzman and Matan Ephrat have performed together in Israel and around the world since 2012. Through cello, voice and drums, they breathe new life into familiar songs alongside original songs that feel instantly familiar. Together and individually, they have collaborated with Barbra Streisand, Idan Raichel, Keren Ann, Yasmin Levy, Noa, trumpeter Avishai Cohen, Israeli singing legend Chava Alberstein and many others.

At this year’s showcase, they present Crazy He Calls Me, joined by a string trio to reimagine classic love songs. Commissioned by the late Dubi Lentz for the 2019 Red Sea Jazz Festival, the project has since travelled to stages in Israel and abroad. They are now preparing to record Volumes 2 and 3 with Berlin-based label LowSwing Records, continuing the project as a tribute to Dubi following his passing.
