Shay Hazan – DAWA

Shay Hazan – DAWA

20.11 | Teder (9 Derech Jaffa, Tel Aviv) | Seven Israel Music Showcase performances as part of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Jazz Festival

DAWA, the new project by bassist, composer, and Guimbri player Shay Hazan, fuses Jazz, North/West African musical traditions, ambient music, and free improvisation.
At the core of DAWA’s sound lie cyclical grooves, acoustic loops & polyrhythms. The ensemble creates an evolving soundscape that shifts between meditative depth and explosive energy.
DAWA means “medicine” in Arabic & reflects the philosophy: music as a space for listening, focus & human connection. Drawing on influences ranging from Moroccan Gnawa and spiritual jazz to Afrobeat and experimental music, DAWA crafts a language of music.
